Kayla Gambetta asked the Planning Commission to transfer an existing outdoor-dining conditional-use permit for 7224 Center Street, saying the site will continue to operate as a restaurant with only minor changes. "It was a restaurant prior to us taking over," Gambetta said, adding that the new operators may add a couple more seats at the bar but will keep the use largely the same.
Commissioners focused on safety and operational limits. One commissioner asked whether the outdoor seating area was protected from the parking area; Gambetta said the seating is fenced and elevated. Staff confirmed the seating will be "fenced" and noted the elevation provides additional separation. Commissioners also asked about hours: staff said the city has not required hours restrictions in recent years and that the outdoor-dining hours could match the rest of the business.
After clarifying those points, the commission moved and seconded approval of the transfer with five conditions (including confirmation of the fencing/elevation and other standard conditions). The motion passed on a roll call vote with all members recorded in favor.
The commission did not set new hourly restrictions and directed staff to ensure the approved conditions are recorded in the final paperwork. The applicant was wished success and the commission moved on to the next agenda item.
