Sarah Folen presented the senior center report, noting recent trips to Columbus, approximately 100 meals served in February, and four new Lifetime Resources signups since the report was prepared. She said the center is expanding hours and will be open Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and she is working with Hanover College on movement classes such as chair yoga and line dancing.
Folen reported an ongoing leak in the center’s back-room ceiling that has been patched but has recurred; facilities staff have inspected the roof but additional work may be necessary. She asked that the facilities coordinator be kept informed and said she would follow up with Tanya and city staff about repair options.
Folen also raised a proposal to rename the center to honor founders Stella Cisco and Maryl Brenson and asked staff to place the item on the mayor’s agenda for discussion. She highlighted volunteers who support programming and identified community partners assisting with new services.
