The Slinger School District Board approved payroll and vendor payments and heard administrative reports about open enrollment and district programs at its Dec. 22 regular meeting.
After Karen Hug reviewed highlights of the district financial report, the Board dispensed with reading the full statement and approved it as presented (motion by Gary Feltz, seconded by Jody Strupp). The Board then approved payroll (check 58920 and direct deposits totaling $1,293,603.56) and accounts-payable/wire/ACH/tax and retirement payments totaling $2,297,651.31 (motion by Brenda Lighthizer, seconded by Gary Feltz). The minutes record the motions as "carried" but do not include roll-call tallies.
Becky Schneider reported on open-enrollment capacity for 2026–27 and said a final Board vote is required in January and will be reported to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Schneider recommended that the district cap special-education open enrollment at current-year numbers; the Board did not take final action on that recommendation during the Dec. 22 meeting and will consider it at the Jan. 26 Board meeting.
Other administrative notes included a planned Skyward maintenance window (staff and family access offline Dec. 23–Jan. 4), the return of the DARE program led by Officer Pradarelli, a $500 donation from Craig and Laura Rafko to the family lunch program, and recognition of three Board members for service milestones.
