Assistant Superintendent Laura Friend advised the Nashoba Regional School District school committee that the district will hold a professional learning day for educators on March 27, with a keynote by Dr. Tony Frontier and multiple sessions organized by role and grade level.
Friend said the day will focus on using artificial intelligence to support student thinking and learning rather than replace it, and will include hands-on sessions and an afternoon think tank with leaders. She invited committee members to attend the keynote, sessions, or the afternoon think tank and offered to provide a later update to the committee on district work with AI.
The sessions are intended to provide options tailored to grade level and discipline, and administrators said the work ties to the district strategic plan and ongoing book study. Committee members thanked the administration for including AI on the district professional development calendar and raised the importance of addressing social implications and family engagement as the district integrates AI tools.
