Lawrence County commissioners approved a budget amendment April 14 to record incoming pass-through revenue of $1,375,000 for a lead-hazard control grant.
Chair presented the amendment and described expense allocations: $21,470 for administrative costs, $2,547 for travel and training, and $1,350,983 earmarked for lead-hazard subgrantees administered by Lawrence County Social Services Group. The board characterized the amendment as a recording of unbudgeted revenue and corresponding expenses tied to the grant.
"We receive those funds and distribute them," a commissioner said, explaining the county’s role as the pass-through administrator. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the amendment by roll call.
The transcript does not include the grant’s federal or state program name or program terms; staff will manage subgrantee awards and grant reporting in accordance with program requirements. The board approved the budget amendment to enable distribution of the grant funds and to account for the administrative and subgrantee expenses in the county budget.
