Justin Anderson and the communications team gave the board a detailed update on CSD TV, the district's in‑house streaming service. Justin said the CSD TV app is available on Android and iOS and the service is now streaming to Roku; the year included about 156 produced videos, 34 broadcasts and more than 234 service requests from schools and departments.
Student broadcasters Felipe and Lola described studio classes, industry visits and hands‑on experience at sports and concert broadcasts. Felipe said the program is immersive and social, and he appreciated the opportunity to gain technical and communication skills; Lola described the teamwork and industry contacts that followed visits to local news partners.
Justin previewed a user interface that embeds the meeting agenda with chaptered video bookmarks, enabling viewers to jump to agenda items; he also proposed upgrading cameras and adding screens at the board table for better in‑room readability. "We'll be student run and US supervised," he said of plans to involve students in board meeting production, adding that the district will pilot closer camera angles while monitoring how that affects public testimony and perceived intimidation.
Board members raised captioning and translation priorities; Justin said the team is testing enhanced captioning and translation caption options and has rolled out Microsoft Translator iPads to some school secretaries. He noted additional testing is needed for in‑ear translation devices and that staff will report back on feasibility.
The board supported continued rollout, asked for guidelines on closeups and audience comfort, and encouraged continued student involvement and accessible captions/translations.
