Residents press council on traffic safety, meeting decorum and local events during public comment

Multiple residents used the public‑comment period to raise neighborhood and procedural concerns. Denise Kart of Doc Hills Family Care Home Assisted Living asked the council to begin a dialogue about converting the High Street/Spring Street intersection to a four‑way stop to slow traffic and protect care‑home residents; she said the existing radar speed sign has been intermittently off and asked police and public works to review the location.

Other speakers used the time to raise procedural and personal concerns. One speaker, Mr. Latimer, criticized how the mayor managed speaking time and argued decorum rules should be applied evenly. Mr. Norton addressed an allegation from a previous meeting that he had assaulted the city manager and denied the accusation, saying he had never assaulted the staff member. Amber Daniels promoted local events organized by the Allboard Gaming Club and reminded listeners that early voting begins Thursday.

Staff and council responded to the traffic request: the city manager said he would speak with Chief Karst about the intersection and that staff would analyze the location; staff also offered to meet individually with residents to explain zoning notification and permitting procedures.
