City council announces multiple appointments to advisory boards and commissions

The mayor announced a slate of appointments to the city’s advisory boards and commissions and asked appointees to come forward for recognition and a group photograph. Appointments named during the March 19, 2024 meeting included Wes Everett (Upland Crossing PID Advisory Board), Kyle (Comprehensive Plan Oversight Committee), Dr. David Long (Health Educational Facilities Development Corporation board), Kendra Watson (Housing Finance Corporation board), Christopher Hook (Business Park TIF board), Marvin White (Model Codes and Construction Advisory Board), Tariq Redwin and Kristen Murray (Permit and License Appeal Board), Sheila Pal (Urban Design and Historic Preservation Commission), Matthew Weaver and Daniel Bas (Urban Design and Historic Preservation Commission), Brenda Hawkins and Michael Gomez (Urban Renewal Neighborhood Redevelopment Commission), Jeff Lowry (Veterans Advisory Committee), Danana McFerson, Shannon Spencer, Danielle Craig and Jose Valenciano (Zoning Board of Adjustment), among others.

Why it matters: Appointments to boards and commissions populate the advisory structures that shape planning, housing finance, code enforcement and other local policy implementation. These appointees will represent stakeholders in future proceedings and reviews.
