Mount Clemens recognizes neighborhood holiday decorating with 'Snowflake' awards

Mount Clemens honored neighborhood holiday decorations at the meeting with presentation of the 14th annual Beautification Committee "Snowflake" awards.

Junia Aquario introduced the awards program and explained that the committee divides the city into seven neighborhoods and selects one home in each neighborhood for recognition. The awards recognize residents who "took the time, effort and creativity to make your neighborhood shine," Aquario said.

Three winners attended the meeting to accept certificates, a snowflake ornament and a photo of their home: Marie Gibson (address announced), Bob Warfield (address announced) and Dave Lucas. Aquario thanked all residents who decorated and noted other winners by address, acknowledging several recipients who could not attend because of work commitments.

The Beautification Commission asked attendees to remain briefly for photos; commissioners and presenters thanked the committee for sponsoring the awards.
