Beth Gunther, the new agricultural education teacher and FFA adviser, introduced herself and described her priorities for students and the community.
"Hi, my name is Beth Gunther. I am the agricultural education teacher as well as the FFA adviser. And this is my first year here," Gunther said, adding that she grew up on a dairy farm and wanted to share her "deep love of agriculture" with students.
Gunther said she aims to teach through experience and to encourage students to "work hard for a purpose and to be able to give back to the community." She told meeting attendees that she values the district’s smaller class sizes because they allow "individual instruction and knowing the students on a one-on-one basis, that they have a name and they're not just a number."
She said her hope is to see the school grow and thrive and emphasized that she chose to stay because of the administration, students and families. Gunther cited the district’s mission, which she summarized as "a road to a better tomorrow," as a motivating factor in her commitment to the school.
No formal actions or votes were recorded in connection with her remarks.
