Mount Clemens council approves three-year transportation contract with UAW Local 155

The Mount Clemens City Council on a unanimous roll-call vote approved a three-year Community Transportation agreement with the United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers (UAW) Local 155, covering July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2018, and authorized city administration to execute the contract.

City Manager reported that “members of this Union did ratify the agreement,” and provided a copy of the agreement for council review. The council voted on the motion as presented; Roll-call votes were recorded as yes from Commissioners Hill, (Clerk entry) CRB, Bunton, Campbell and Dempsey.

The contract applies to the Mount Clemens Community Transportation operation and was presented to the council as a tentative three-year labor agreement that the union membership ratified. Council action authorized the mayor/chair and city staff to sign and implement the agreement; the city manager indicated the signed contract is available for review under separate cover.

The council took the vote after routine discussion and moved on to other consent items.
