Committee approves Whole Health clinician position funded jointly by city and county

The Budget, Capital and Personnel Committee unanimously approved a resolution authorizing acceptance of city funds and the creation of a licensed clinical therapist position for Whole Health (ID13854).

Jenny, a commissioner with Whole Health, told the committee the city will fund half of the new care-team position and Whole Health will provide the other half from internal funds previously used for a community outreach program. The new clinician will partner with IPD to provide co-response and care-team services; the county said the move will align resources with sheriff and IPD care-team clinicians already in place.

Committee members asked about the funding source and whether the county had budgeted for its share; staff said the county repurposed funds historically used for a community outreach worker program. The resolution was moved, seconded and adopted unanimously.

The resolution creates the position and authorizes the necessary budget adjustments and acceptance of outside funds. Committee minutes indicate the action was taken to bolster integrated response capacity and to formalize the city–county funding arrangement.
