Recycling district accepts single bid for facility gate and fence

The Johnson County Recycling District approved a single returned quote for a new gate and fence for the recycling facility during its March 9 meeting, and staff said the project can be covered from the building/asphalt account.

Staff described safety issues at the facility entrance and explained that they solicited three phone quotes for the gate; only one vendor returned a bid. Board members confirmed there was sufficient funding in the building account and that a small retention amount would be held until project completion.

Board members moved to accept the presented quote and voted by voice to approve the award. Staff referenced the vendor quote number as 4580947 (vendor name as read in the transcript). The board asked staff to ensure retention procedures and final invoices meet county accounting requirements.
