Weld County approves three facilities contracts, selecting Trust Security Group for countywide security services

The Weld County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved three facilities contract awards during its March 9 meeting, including a countywide security services contract recommended after an RFP evaluation.

Toby Taylor of county purchasing said the security solicitation drew 10 proposals and four firms were interviewed; an evaluation committee concluded Trust Security Group Incorporated offered the best value. Taylor told the board the recommended contract runs $36,816 per month, for an annual total of $441,792. "Of the proposals, four firms were asked to interview with the committee," Taylor said, explaining the evaluation process.

Commissioner Buck moved to award bid B260000008 to Trust Security Group Inc.; Commissioner Ross seconded the motion, which carried.

The board also considered bid B26009 for washbay concrete repairs across 12 county facilities. The low bidder asked to rescind due to omitted costs; facilities recommended the second‑low bidder, CH Concrete, at $93,600. Commissioner Maxi moved and Commissioner Buck seconded; the motion passed unanimously.

For bid B2600014, Fort Lupton salt and sand shed repairs, facilities recommended Brave Bear Construct Custom Builders as the low bidder at $142,200. Commissioner Buck moved and Commissioner Maxi seconded the award; the board approved the contract unanimously.

No commissioners voiced opposition during the recorded votes. The purchasing presentation and unanimous approvals completed the procurement items on the agenda.
