Town Manager Kristen Lass highlighted several town updates in her March newsletter, according to a Westford CAT report.
Lass thanked Public Safety, Public Works and Facilities for their response to the Feb. 23 blizzard and announced that the Robinson School project has reached a milestone with Lavallee Brensinger selected as the project designer. The project is entering the design phase and public design forums are scheduled to begin next month, the newsletter said.
The newsletter also noted the Select Board adopted a new handbook on Feb. 24 intended to increase transparency and set expectations for town governance bodies. Lass congratulated Westford Fire Chief Mike Dennehy on completing the Massachusetts Chief Fire Officer Management Training Program.
Residents were reminded that the pay-as-you-throw trash program begins in July; a public forum is scheduled this month to answer resident questions. The newsletter listed an open one-year Select Board seat with nomination papers due March 17 and that annual town meeting will be held March 28.
