Depew board adopts tax-levy override, authorizes budget and reorganization hearings and signs stormwater MOA

DEPEW, N.Y. — The Depew Village Board took a series of routine and legislative actions at its March 9 meeting, including adopting a local law authorizing an override of the state property tax levy limit and scheduling budget and reorganization public hearings.

The board read and adopted local law number two of 2026, which the transcript identifies as a law authorizing the village to adopt a budget for the fiscal year beginning June 1, 2026 with a real property tax levy in excess of the limit in General Municipal Law §3‑C. After the proposed text was read, the board approved the measure by roll-call vote with Trustees Morowski, Zimba and Craft, Deputy Mayor Adolf and Mayor Peterson recorded as voting yes.

Trustees also authorized the administrator to advertise for the tentative 2026–27 budget public hearing to be held March 23 and for the April 6 reorganization meeting.
