The Tupelo Planning Committee unanimously approved a major-subdivision amendment for Gateway Landing on April 6, allowing a single commercial lot to be created and a street to be dedicated to the city.
Greg Carico, representing the property owner, said the action is a technical amendment to complete a lot for sale and to record the new street. Tanner Newman told the committee staff and other departments had reviewed the submittal and recommended approval; the applicant said MDOT had approved the driveway/curb cut permit.
Committee members asked the applicant to coordinate with E911 to provide a designated street name. A motion to approve the major subdivision with the street name to be labeled was made, seconded, and passed unanimously. Newman reminded applicants of the three-day appeal period and said staff will process construction applications and place the item on the next city council agenda for final approval and recording.
The item was presented as a commercial subdivision amendment and does not authorize subsequent site-specific site-plan or signage approvals, which will come back to the city through the standard construction and site-plan review processes.
