Several parents and staff used public‑comment time to raise urgent concerns about special‑education services, alleging gaps in credentialing, delayed incident reporting and failures to provide required supports.
A parent described an ongoing case in which substitute and nursing coverage had been inconsistent, alleged a staff member placed on administrative leave had later been moved to another classroom, and asked for a third‑party audit of IEPs and expenditures. “You are depriving people at risk of being able to report teachers who are acting outside of their scope and license,” the parent said, and asked the board to commission an independent review.
A district teacher and a representative of the Murrieta Educators Association asked for continued support for special‑education staffing and for transparent reporting on replacement staff credentials and IEP compliance. Lisa Murray, MEA vice president, reported a tentative agreement with the district covering contracts and said bargaining units had achieved salary and benefit improvements.
District staff acknowledged the comments and offered to follow up; at least one administrator indicated the superintendent would address individual parental concerns outside the meeting.
