Committee recommends CHA for Robin Hood Park design, authorizes up to $300,000

City engineering staff presented a recommended designer for the Robin Hood Park improvements and the committee moved to authorize the city manager to execute an agreement with CHA Consulting Inc. for design services not to exceed $300,000.

Brian Ross, city engineer, said the city received eight RFQ submissions, interviewed three finalists and requested a scope-and-fee proposal from CHA because of their local staffing and explicit reference to council and master-plan goals. "I'm confident we'll have a finalized scope and fee to execute and award," Ross said. Carey Fiscus, parks and recreation director, said CHA reviewed historical as-builts for the park’s pool and understood constraints of aging infrastructure; she outlined phase one as the pool renovation and phase two as playground, parking, a multi-sport court, a renovated restroom and a program/camp building.

The committee voted unanimously to recommend authorization for the contract not to exceed $300,000. The recommendation will proceed per purchasing and contract-award procedures.
