Fremont Planning Commission elects Stan Darling as chair, names Nielsen vice chair

The City of Fremont Planning Commission elected Stan Darling as chair and Commissioner Nielsen as vice chair during its Jan. 19 meeting at the Fremont Municipal Building.

Commissioner Landholm nominated Stan Darling for chair; a roll call vote recorded votes in favor from Borisow, Landholm, Nielsen, Einspahr, Jaeger and Sawtelle, while Darling abstained. The motion carried 6-0 with one abstention. Later, Commissioner Landholm nominated Commissioner Nielsen for vice chair; the roll call vote recorded Darling, Borisow, Sawtelle, Einspahr, Landholm and Jaeger voting in favor and Nielsen abstaining. That motion also carried 6-0 with one abstention.

The votes followed a roll call establishing a quorum at the 5:00 p.m. meeting start. Earlier in the meeting the commission dispensed with the reading of the Nov. 17, 2025 minutes and approved them by a separate roll call vote of the seven commissioners present.

The reorganization leaves the commission with Stan Darling serving as chair and Commissioner Nielsen as vice chair for the current term. The commission adjourned at approximately 6:22 p.m.
