The San Mateo-Foster City School District Board of Trustees on May 23 approved a tentative agreement (TA) reached with the district's teachers'association for the 2024-25 school year and unanimously adopted the AB 1200 public disclosure document outlining the financial implications.
District staff and trustees described the TA as the result of collaborative bargaining; members thanked both bargaining teams for their work. Trustees asked clarifying questions during the meeting before moving to vote. The TA and AB 1200 disclosure passed by a 5-0 roll-call vote.
Board members also approved a Declaration of Need allowing the district to employ teachers who require emergency credentials or waivers during the coming school year; that item also passed 5-0.
District staff stated that AB 1200 is the standard public filing that accompanies tentative agreements and that the form will be submitted to the county office as required. The board indicated the TA and the disclosure will be incorporated into budget planning ahead of the district's formal budget adoption scheduled for the June meeting.
The approvals were routine and procedural: the board accepted the negotiated TA and certified the financial disclosure; no additional policy actions were taken during the vote.
