The Sequoia Union High School District Board opened its May 8 meeting with two recognitions: Woodside High School’s robotics team and a district team awarded the California Model SARB award.
Principal Karen Van Putton introduced Woodside’s “100 Wild Hats” robotics team (about 31 students) and coaches, noting the group’s return from regional competition and past qualification to the world championships. A short video accompanied the recognition and the board and attendees applauded the team’s achievements.
Later the board and superintendent acknowledged the district’s student services, attendance and community‑liaison teams for earning the California Model SARB award. Superintendent Crystal Le and presenters named multiple staff and described the award as recognition of consistent work on attendance improvement and coordinated support including home visits and partnerships with community providers.
The recognitions were ceremonial; no board action was required.
