The Sayreville Economic and Redevelopment Agency completed organizational business at its January meeting, swearing in newly appointed commissioners, electing leadership and approving routine administrative items.
Robert Davis publicly recited the oath of office and was confirmed as a commissioner for a five‑year term expiring Dec. 31, 2030. The board then nominated and elected John Zrowski as chair and Steve Gillow as vice chair by roll call; commissioners present recorded unanimous affirmative votes.
The chairman noted that by statute the executive director serves as secretary and recommended designating Zach (last name not specified) as assistant secretary to provide backup signing authority for bond closings. The board moved, seconded and approved the appointment by roll call.
The agency approved minutes from its Dec. 11, 2025 meeting and authorized payment of bills totaling $37,525.27 (operating $25,626.52; escrow $11,898.75). There was no executive session and the meeting adjourned after a brief public comment period in which no substantive public remarks were recorded on the transcript.
What’s next: The board asked staff to continue outreach and scheduled the next meeting, where the planner will present a redevelopment plan amendment related to the transit‑oriented area.
