Miss Hutchinson, the student representative for Greenback, told the board about seniors' activities, testing and recent competitions, and thanked staff and board members for their support. She reported that juniors took the ASVAB on Feb. 26 and the ACT on March 17, that the high school baseball team remained undefeated in district play, and that FFA and HOSA teams recently competed at state-level events.
She listed upcoming dates: the National Honor Society induction on April 27, academic signing day on April 29, senior awards night on April 30, prom the weekend of April 18 (Kingston) and graduation on May 9 at 10:00 on the football field. She also noted a student, Austin Kelso, placed second in an algebra competition and that athlete Kaylin Tate broke a 17-year shot-put record and will continue at LMU.
The board also recognized the North Middle Lady Stars and the Fort Loudon Middle School Braves for their district tournament runs and invited players and coaches forward for public acknowledgement.
