The Lincoln Parish School Board voted April 9 to raise recurring salary supplements for salaried district employees and to approve a separate one-time payment in June.
Ms. Duke presented the payroll recommendations, saying the district proposes increasing the May “14th check” by $454 for certified salaried employees and by $227 for salaried support employees, which she said would bring the total 14th-check amounts to $3,890 for certified salaried staff and $1,945 for salaried support staff. The board approved distributing the May supplement with the May 22, 2026 payroll.
Separately, administrators recommended a one-time, nonrecurring June distribution to be paid with the June 25, 2026 payroll: $4,000 for certified employees and $2,000 for support salaried employees. Presenters told the board the one-time payment would be funded from available balances in designated local levies (the 1979 sales tax two‑thirds portion, the 1993 sales tax and 50% of the 2000 ad valorem tax) and stressed that the one-time supplement would draw down fund balances. A presenter noted the recurring 14th checks are evaluated annually for sustainability and that the one-time payment would not be expected to recur.
Board members asked clarifying questions about the source of funds and sustainability of recurring payments. The motions to approve both the May supplement distribution and the June one-time payment carried by voice vote; no roll-call tallies were given in the transcript.
What’s next: Payroll staff will implement the changes for the May 22 and June 25 pay dates and reflect adjustments in the district salary schedules; any resulting changes to fund balances will appear in future financial reports.
