Votes at a glance: St. Bernard council approves minutes, places two potential resolutions on next agenda

The St. Bernard council recorded three formal actions during the meeting.

Approve minutes: Mr Schm moved and Mr Morton seconded a motion to approve the written minutes of the March 28 council meeting; the motion carried with all present voting in favor.

Engine/air-brake/noise item: Mr Morton moved and Mr Estep seconded a motion to place a resolution or ordinance on the table for the next meeting addressing engine/air-brake noise; the council voted unanimously to place the item on the next agenda so staff can prepare draft language following consultation with the police and fire chiefs.

Retail liquor permits: Miss Housefelt moved and Mr Estep seconded a motion to place, if needed, a resolution on the table to allow the council to object to retail liquor permits before the state deadline; the motion passed unanimously. Director Alber had told the council the Ohio Department of Commerce requires objections to be postmarked by May 2, 2024.
