Elevator repairs set to start April 20 as board schedules history-room dedication and community programs

Library staff told trustees the elevator repair work was slated to begin April 20 and that signage and accommodations are already in place. Trustees discussed that previous branch repairs had taken longer than initially estimated and agreed to allow extra time in the schedule; staff will continue to coordinate room bookings to preserve ADA-compliant access for public programs.

Because the plaque for the history room is not yet installed and repairs affect elevator access, the board proposed moving the history-room dedication to June 9 and agreed to check the mayor’s calendar and secure the date if available. Trustees also noted that the passport service continues to run successfully, the Carnegie grant notifications have been sent, and supervisors favored 'Atmosphere' for the One Book One Community program; the board discussed options for inviting an author in person or by Zoom.
