The Town of Southborough elementary school building committee selected its leadership at the start of the meeting, electing Craig Williams as chair and naming Andrew as vice chair.
A member nominated Craig Williams for chair and Andrew moved the formal nomination. Robert (Bob) seconded the motion; Craig accepted the nomination, saying he would “absolutely accept.” The committee then conducted a roll-call vote; Bob, Jason, Andrew, Heather and Craig all voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously.
For vice chair, Craig moved that Andrew serve in the role; the motion was seconded and again carried in a unanimous roll-call vote. Members discussed whether the committee charge required a secretary and concluded it did not; instead they agreed to rotate minute-taking and use the meeting recordings and transcripts to assemble minutes, with one member volunteering to spearhead minute creation and submission to the town clerk.
The committee then moved on to procurement business.
