During public comment Karen Nguyen, who identified herself as a resident of Curry County, told the board that minutes have not been posted since December 2025 and asked that the county prepare and post written minutes on its website so the public does not have to watch multi‑hour meeting videos to obtain a record.
The presiding officer said that meeting videos qualify as minutes and are available on Curry Civic TV but agreed to work to post written minutes. The board did not specify a timeline for posting the outstanding minutes in the open session transcript.
Separately, commissioners discussed proposed revisions to the duties and responsibilities of the board administrative support position, including the possibility of adding duties of a public information officer, legislative-research support and front-office triage. The presiding officer said the county contacted SOWEB (referenced as the Southwest Workforce Investment Board) to inquire about temporary, short-term staff to answer phones and provide a public-facing presence while permanent duties are clarified.
One commissioner volunteered (Pat) to draft a job description and to work with Julie and legal counsel to return a proposal to the board. The board agreed to pursue a path forward; no formal vote on permanent position changes was recorded in open session.
