On March 2 the Zionsville Town Council took first readings on two bond ordinances proposed to fund capital projects.
Max Adams of bond counsel Barnes & Thornburg presented Ordinance 2026-04, which would authorize general obligation bonds not to exceed $14,745,000 to finance a Department of Public Works campus project. Adams said the ordinance follows prior preliminary determinations and public hearings and that the council would consider final approval at a later meeting.
Adams also introduced Ordinance 2026-05, authorizing general obligation bonds not to exceed $8,650,000 for a Westside Fire Station project. Both ordinances were introduced on first reading without final council votes; staff and counsel said final action will return after the required statutory steps.
What’s next: Both bond ordinances return for final consideration at a subsequent meeting; councilors signaled support for proceeding through the required public-notice and bond-parameter steps.
