Aaron Potter, executive director of Alliance Industries, thanked the council for prior funding and described how the nonprofit uses those dollars to create meaningful employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. "This funding is more than just a contribution. It's an investment in opportunity and growth in our community," Potter said.
Potter said Alliance currently serves 42 team members, reduced its waiting list by hiring eight people in 2025 and has a waiting list of 22. The organization said it does not receive federal or state funding and relies on grants, fundraising and private donations; last year’s wreath festival raised roughly $40,000 and was a significant fundraiser.
Council members thanked Potter and highlighted Alliance as a community asset; no formal appropriation or request was voted on at the meeting beyond prior funding acknowledgement. Potter also noted partnerships with local manufacturers and organizations to support training, transportation and workplace accessibility.
