Deputy Cienfuegos presented the February 2026 crime report to the Calabasas City Council, reporting 21 Part One crimes for the month, a 28.1% decrease compared with February 2025.
The deputy said the Part One total included three aggravated assaults (two domestic violence incidents where suspects were taken into custody), one commercial burglary on Parkway Calabasas and multiple theft incidents: 14 thefts (three grand thefts at Commons Way and the Avalon apartment complex), three vehicle burglaries, three unlocked vehicle thefts and three grand theft autos concentrated around the Malibu Canyon apartment complex and Commons Way.
Councilmembers thanked deputies for their work and emphasized preventive reminders to residents such as locking vehicles and not leaving valuables in plain view. One councilmember noted a large decline in residential burglaries year'to'date compared with the prior year and associated that trend partly with prosecutorial practices and increased patrol presence.
Deputy Cienfuegos said detectives are actively working open cases and that some suspects have been identified. The report was received by the council with no further public comment.
