The board discussed appointing voting delegates for the Pennsylvania School Boards Association and reviewed upcoming changes to PSBA services that affect district policy and agenda management.
Why it matters: Delegates will represent the district at PSBA business sessions. Separately, PSBA will migrate districts’ policies to its new PSBA policy portal effective July 1; the district was asked whether to add the Keystone agenda feature at a cost of $2,000 to replace the current agenda manager.
Jason volunteered to serve as one delegate and board members discussed naming a second delegate. Administrators noted the PSBA voting will be a one-day event (Saturday at Cumberland Valley) rather than part of the multi-day leadership conference it formerly accompanied. "So would not not as big a commitment," a board member said.
Administrators said the PSBA policy migration is included with their all-access package and that adding the Keystone agenda would cost $2,000; the board was reminded the district currently pays about $1,300 for its agenda manager. The item will return for any formal procurement or budget decision.
What happens next: Board members said they will solicit interest for a second delegate and consider whether to add the Keystone agenda feature ahead of the July 1 migration.
