Woodland Park staff reports modest year-to-date sales tax growth, lodging tax declines

City staff presented the February 2026 sales-tax report at the May 7 Woodland Park City Council meeting, saying year-to-date collections are up 3.8% — about $44,000 — over the prior year for total collections of roughly $1.2 million. The month of February was reported as up 4.2%, or about $22,000, with total February collections of approximately $575,000.

By contrast, lodging-tax receipts were reported to be down significantly: staff said lodging tax is down 17.1% year-to-date and down 38.9% for February alone. Staff noted January was relatively flat and described the overall outlook as "looking good so far" while flagging a continued decline in lodging revenues.

Staff said the next month's sales-tax report will be available at the council’s next meeting.
