Alexis, the student representative, told the Centennial School District Board on May 12 that spring events at William Tennant — including BCMEA ensembles, an open mic night on March 26 and the spring musical 'Mean Girls' — showcased broad student participation across performing and visual arts. "We were very impressed with everyone who participated this year," Alexis said during a run of student presentations.
Superintendent Dr. Lukoupal and board members presented certificates to members of the William Tennant speech and debate team and recognized coaches, including Dr. Colleen Mooney and assistant coach Tim Coghlan. Dr. Mooney was introduced as a coach accompanying several qualifiers; the board noted that four students qualified for the NCFL Grand National Tournament and four for the NSDA national tournament in June, with additional state qualifiers across multiple events.
Board members praised the programs and encouraged small-group photo recognition for student awardees. The superintendent also thanked the coaching staff and volunteers for their contributions and invited board members to a job fair on May 20 offering on-the-spot interviews for prospective employees.
The student presentations concluded with reminders about senior activities: senior experience internships beginning May 11, senior awards night on May 27, a Walk to Remember on June 1 and commencement at William Tennant Stadium on June 3.
