Hughson High FFA team celebrated after top-10 national finish in livestock judging

Council members recognized four Hughson High School FFA students and their coaches for competitive success in livestock judging at state and national contests.

One teacher described the team's work—up to 20 hours per week of practice, travel to national camps and a finish of sixth place at nationals in Indianapolis—with one student achieving third high individual nationwide. Coach Mike Curry explained the contest format: teams judge 12 classes across four species and deliver sets of oral "reasons" defending placements to official judges.

Council and staff congratulated the students and invited them and coaches to a photo opportunity onstage. The recognition was presented as an example of local education and youth engagement success.
