Two residents used the public-comment periods at Monday's council meeting to press the city on local issues: the neglected Dill Cemetery and speeding on neighborhood streets.
Tim Gosnell (12 Beatrice Drive) told council the cemetery off Valley Street has fallen tombstones, unclear ownership and a fence application that may block access. Gosnell, a Board of Zoning Appeals member, asked the city to investigate ownership records and explore options for maintenance or access protections; councilors agreed to have staff research parcel history and legal rights.
Frank Smith (4703 Byesville Blvd) asked staff to help him file a paper petition for speed bumps because he cannot complete the online, AI-generated form and said residents are willing to sign. Smith said speeding on his street is dangerous and requested staff assistance; city staff agreed to follow up this week.
Council did not take immediate policy action but directed staff to return with information and next steps for both inquiries.
