At the meeting’s call to the public, parent Kira Quo addressed the board and alleged the district has withheld investigative records related to two incidents and raised concerns about how safety and reporting were handled.
Quo said she has repeatedly requested documents — including investigation reports dated Feb. 17 and April 2, witness and staff statements, nurse notes and internal communications — and that she has not received them. "The superintendent recently stated in writing that all documents have been provided to me and that the matter is closed. That statement is not true," Quo told the board. She said her son completed a recorded forensic interview with law enforcement and accused district staff of failing to protect safety and follow mandatory‑reporting duties.
Quo requested four actions from the board: a neutral third‑party investigation, preservation and release of all records, administrative action to address documentation failures, and removal of a named staff member she described as a continuing risk. The board did not debate or respond during the public comment period; administrators and board policy referenced Arizona open meeting law limits on responding to public comment.
The allegations were not resolved at the meeting. Board members and staff did not provide the records Quo requested during the session; the matter may be pursued through follow‑up outside the public meeting process or via formal records requests and investigatory channels.
