Board recommends renaming 1098 Ridgeview on Foster PUD to Lakeridge and raises accessory building height to 25 ft

The Mitchell Planning Board voted to recommend an amendment to the 1098 Planned Unit Development (PUD), changing the name from "Ridgeview on Foster" to "Lakeridge" and adjusting the maximum building height provision.

Staff explained that when the PUDs were created during the COVID period a codifier error assigned the wrong name to the PUD in the city record. The amendment request, brought by Ethan Co-op Lumber, would correct the PUD name and change the maximum accessory-building height from a two-and-one-half–story / 22-foot formulation to a straight 25-foot maximum to accommodate certain accessory structures without repeated variance requests.

Staff also said notices were posted and that no formal letters for or against the amendment were received; one staff member reported speaking with two neighbors who expressed no issues. A board member described the amendment as sensible and moved to recommend approval; the motion passed on a voice vote.

The recommendation will be forwarded to the body that adopts PUD amendments. The transcript does not record individual vote tallies or an adoption date.
