Superintendent says district is investigating allegations involving two staff members, urges caution about misinformation

During the April 27 meeting, Superintendent Steve Paramore read a prepared statement saying the district is investigating "deeply concerning allegations of inappropriate conduct involving two staff members." He said the district will respond "in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedural safeguards" and that the safety and well-being of students is the district’s foremost priority.

Paramore acknowledged that misinformation has circulated in the community and on social media, citing a widely shared article published April 22, and asked the public to rely on verified communications from the district. He directed families to the Safer Ohio reporting system, posted on the district website, for any reportable offenses.

The superintendent said personnel matters limit how much detail can be released publicly and that the district will provide counseling and other supports to students who may have been affected. He also said the district will take appropriate action based on the findings of its investigations. No formal personnel decisions were announced during the public meeting; the board subsequently moved to executive session to consider employment matters.
