Representatives to the Lehigh Career and Technical Institute Joint Operating Committee reported April 27 that the LCTI proposed 2026–27 budget is balanced on a 4.2% increase target but requires program adjustments.
Dr. Levenson summarized JOC discussion: LCTI was able to assemble a balanced budget but expects to trim where possible, which may increase waitlists for high-demand programs. The district’s share of the LCTI general fund for 2026–27 was reported as $3,688,838 — a 7.43% increase from the prior year — and East Penn's academic-center net cost was $405,699, an 11.98% increase.
The JOC report noted that LCTI does not anticipate furloughs, and that personnel rebalancing plus attrition, resignations or retirements will likely satisfy staffing adjustments. The report also said LCTI approved purchasing Chrysler Pacifica vans for work‑based learning and will forward its budget to member districts for approval in May.
Board members heard that two director-level positions for CTE and work-based adult education will be posted and that student events and testing results remain on schedule.
