The Lebanon City Council on April 28 approved funding and contracts to support community events and park improvements.
Resolution 2026-039 authorizes a $20,000 donation to the Chamber of Commerce to help recruit and pay carriage operators for the city’s annual carriage parade. Council discussion noted the chamber raises money from booth rentals and that carriage operators frequently travel long distances; Mr. Bronca said the city contribution helps preserve the parade’s quality.
Council also adopted Ordinance 2026-041, awarding a contract to Evans Landscaping for $90,450 to add 10 parking spaces at Miller Park. Council members noted the park’s heavy use and one member observed the cost equates to about $10,000 per new space.
Separately, Ordinance 2026-042 authorizes a $176,391.52 contract with Benchmark Land Management LLC for site development, concrete bases and landscaping for the Miller Ecological Park play area; the Miller Park trustees pledged $50,000 toward that project.
All three measures passed by roll-call vote. Staff and council members said the parking expansion and site work respond to increased park use and support the city’s park programming.
Next steps: Contracts will proceed per procurement procedures; staff will coordinate with the Miller Park trustees on the ecological-play-area project and process the Chamber donation.
