Commissioners approve Crime Stoppers agreement, volunteer coverage and small budget moves

At its meeting, the Limestone County Commissioners Court approved a set of routine items including a Crime Stoppers agreement, modest insurance coverage for volunteers and several budget transfers.

Jennifer explained the Crime Stoppers agreement with the Limestone County Communication Center that will route anonymous tips through a P3 Tips website and said the sheriff’s office has also signed a related agreement. "Everything remain anonymous and then if we have any issues with them we’re to contact them and then the tip is sent to the appropriate law enforcement that it is involving crimes," Jennifer said. The court moved, seconded and approved placing the agreement on the record.

Separately, the court approved adding volunteer coverage to the county workers-compensation policy. The presentation stated that adding 20 volunteers would cost $836; commissioners voted to authorize the coverage.

The court also approved a requested budget adjustment to the county clerk’s office to fund part-time help for the remainder of the year. The transfer moved $15,000 from contingency to payroll to continue funding a part-time employee identified in the request as Jennifer Watson.

A Civic Plus contract renewal was noted as already signed and passed without discussion. Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 requested a small transfer for office supplies; commissioners approved moving roughly $80 to cover the need.

All routine items on the consent and regular agenda were approved by voice vote during the session.
