Council renews three‑year lease for downtown business at 106 Spring Street

Seaford — The City Council unanimously approved a three‑year lease renewal for the city‑owned property at 106 Spring Street, where proprietors J.R. Walker and John Talkington operate the business identified in the packet as Birming Horn.

A staff presenter told the council the rent would remain $2,000 for the first two years and increase by 3% in the third year. The presenter noted the business will celebrate three years in downtown Seaford on May 16.

Owners Walker and Talkington were present when the lease was introduced to council. "We're even more excited that they want to continue that here in Seaford for another three years," the presenter said.

Councilman Alan Quillin moved to approve the lease renewal and Vice Mayor Dan Henderson seconded. The council approved the lease on a unanimous voice vote.
