Mayor Carr asks committee to move CCRC 10-year lease request to June review

Mayor Carr, identifying himself as chair of the Community Care of Rutherford County (CCRC), asked the Property Management Committee to place a request from CCRC on the June calendar so staff can finalize contract language for a 10-year lease conversion from the current five-year arrangement.

The request follows a unanimous vote by the CCRC board to seek a 10-year county lease “so they could have a greater operating time to plan for upgrades to the facility,” Mayor Carr said. He told the committee that county staff (Nick and Michael) are still refining contract language and that the item should return in June with a complete draft for committee review.

Commissioners did not debate the merits at length during the meeting; the item was moved to the June calendar for further consideration and legal review. The committee did not take a final vote on the lease at this meeting.

The next step is for county staff to prepare and circulate draft contract language in advance of the June meeting so the committee can review terms and any fiscal or operational implications before any approval vote.
