Education Enrichment Foundation awards $20,369 to 12 educator grants across Scotch Plains-Fanwood

A representative of the Education Enrichment Foundation (EEF) told the board the foundation will award $20,369 across 12 educator grants for the 2026–2027 school year, the largest single-year distribution reported by the EEF. The grants will fund a range of classroom and student-centered projects across grade levels.

High school projects funded include an outdoor classroom, a project-adventure whale-watch program, and a reality lab using virtual-reality equipment. Funds will also support Raider Robotics mentorship efforts connecting high-school students with younger learners, middle-school Eco-Bots blending environmental science and coding, and multiple elementary initiatives including digital media, robotics for independent learners, music and wellness programming, and expanded digital art access at School One. The EEF representative announced a ribbon-cutting for the Joanna Rodriguez Recording Studio at the high school on May 4.

EEF representatives and board members noted the foundation’s fundraising—cited as a record distribution for the foundation—supports programming that supplements district resources. The board thanked the foundation and the educators whose projects were selected for funding.
