Staff told the Municipal Airport Authority that the first earmark project bid opening produced one bid and laid out next steps for other construction items.
Matt reported that a single bid for the taxiway stub and run-up pad was received from Curl Construction for $2,076,546.57. He said plans and contract documents for the corporate box hangar are complete and staff intends to advertise for that project with a bid opening planned for May 20; staff noted they would coordinate the bidding schedule with FAA and TDOT so bids do not expire if earmark money is delayed.
On the AOP project, Matt said the air traffic control tower application has been submitted and staff is pursuing final approvals this calendar year. He also described preliminary design completion for shade ports; that project currently has no construction funding and will require a future application (staff referenced IIJA/bipartisan infrastructure funds generically).
Matt updated the board on the MTSU flight-training campus: contractors completed underground utilities and undercutting for soft soils, and TDOT requested a narrower driveway and a northbound turn lane; TDOT had not required a traffic signal at this stage. Staff will share revised driveway plans with MTSU and pursue the permit with TDOT.
No contract awards were recorded during the meeting; staff will proceed with advertising projects and return with bid results and funding confirmations as they develop.
