The mayor used the end-of-April update to walk residents through several upcoming community events and practical service reminders for May and early summer.
Key event dates and services announced include: the Gardener Farmers Market (third Saturday monthly, next on May 16, 9:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m., with themed markets through November); the Greater Gardener Health and Wellness Fair (May 7, 5:00–7:00 p.m., Perry Auditorium); the Relay for Life opening ceremonies June 12 at 6:00 p.m. with the multi-day relay June 12–13; the Veterans Memorial Ride (May 24; registration 7:15 a.m., kickstands at 10:00 a.m. at the Gardener PACC); and the Gardener Area League of Arts Arts and Music Festival (May 15–17 at Red Apple Farm in Philipsson). The mayor also reminded residents that Memorial Day falls May 25 (City Hall closed) and described the parade route and rain plan.
Practical service reminders included yard waste pickup week (May 5–8; collection on residents’ regular trash day, first full week April–October with an extra November week) and a dog-license notice that late fees will be applied after the current grace period. The mayor thanked volunteer organizers for the bandstand concerts and said the schedule and rain dates are on the city's website; he emphasized concerts are donation-funded and incur no city operating cost.
“Again, this is available on the city's website and social media platforms if you have any questions,” the mayor said, urging residents to check online resources for details.
