Chanhassen resident urges Carver County to convene citizen advisory committee on electoral changes

Paul Hake of Chanhassen used the public‑comment period to press the Carver County Board to form a citizen advisory committee to examine electoral changes from the last two decades and to provide a public framework for any reforms. Hake said his aim is to ensure any review be public and grounded in legal constraints, and he left copies of detailed materials for the commission and offered a way to receive a digital copy.

Hake identified himself as "Paul Hake, Chanhassen, 261 Hidden Lane," and said his remarks were a supplement to an earlier petition he has made to the board. He told commissioners that the committee should understand legal boundaries for any actions and that the county team would be better positioned to provide technical analysis than he could on his own. He asked that any effort to convene a citizen group adopt a common framework and public process.

The board acknowledged receipt of his materials and thanked him; no formal direction or motion to create a committee was made during the meeting.
