During the action portion of the meeting the board approved several procurement and grant items.
Consent agenda: the board approved the consent agenda for the April 13 regular meeting.
Student devices: by voice vote the board authorized a purchase order totaling $185,224.20 for 420 student devices and directed staff to submit the purchase for VPSA reimbursement by June 30, 2026.
Grants: the board accepted Title One improvement grants totaling $130,546.40 (King George Elementary $43,734.80; Sealston Elementary $41,664.60; King George Middle $45,147.00). The board also accepted Title 2 ITeach funds of $9,644 to support teacher certification pathways and approved submission of the Carl D. Perkins CTE grant application for career and technical education funding.
Other motions: the board tabled a revised allocation for 2024–25 Title II additional funds to the next meeting and approved reauthorization of an authorized designee for the superintendent’s signing authority. Personnel approvals followed a closed session and were adopted by vote.
